A Gen Z childhood classic has returned. Netflix will release six episodes of Winx Club: The Magic Is Back on July 28th. The series is both packed with nostalgia and new adventures.
The series will see Bloom and the Winx return to Gardenia on a rescue mission to find her missing parents. On their journey, they must find the dragon flame once again and fend off a new threat looming over Alfea. The series will give us a fresh take on the “Forever Winx” with a remix performed by Virginia Bocelli.
In the trailer, we see our winged friends using their magical powers in order to fend off evil. A mysterious grey-haired villain oozes an ominous purple aura and seeks revenge on Bloom by summoning an “ancient power”. Watch the trailer below.
The animation also appears to have been updated. The original primarily utilized 2D animation, creating a nostalgic look. The new series utilizes 3D animation for a modern aesthetic.

Take My Muffin) as Musa, Sarah Faye Beard as Tecna (FBI: Most Wanted, Rainbow Bubblegem), Cat Protano (Grow Up Show, Might Man And The Great Summer Splash) as Icy, Caroline Spinola (Pokeman: Paldean Winds, Living Large) as Stormy, and Jamie McGonnial (Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Kurokami: The Animation) as Damien. Winx Club represents one of the most popular female-forward action kids shows. Another series which also puts women at the forefront of the action genre, Totally Spies!, is currently in the reboot process for Cartoon Network.
