Charlotte Riley, JJ Feild Among Main Cast Of Amazon’s ‘The Peripheral’ From Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan

Amazon Video’s adaptation of William Gibson’s (Neuromancer, Count Zero) novel, The Peripheral, has added five actors to its main cast. According to Deadline, Charlotte Riley (Wuthering Heights, The Take), JJ Feild (The Ruby in the Smoke, Captain America: The First Avenger), Alex Hernandez (Millie and the Lords, unREAL), T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Years and Years), and Adelind Horan (Shirley, Wanderland) have joined the sci-fi series. Westworld creators Lisa Joy (Reminiscence, Silver and Black) and Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest, The Prestige) are the series’ producers.

The science-fiction thriller adds Hernandez as Tommy Constantine, via Deadline. Horan is set to play Billy Ann Barker and Riley will play Aelita. Feild and Miller round out the main cast as Lev and Cherise, respectively. They join series’ leads Chloe Grace Moretz (Greta, Tom & Jerry) and Jack Reynor (Sing Street, Midsommar).

According to DeadlineThe Peripheral centers on two siblings who become embroiled in a time-traveling conspiracy that will challenge the fate of humankind. Moretz and Reynor will play siblings Flynne and Burton. After retired marine Burton takes leave from a mysterious security job, his sister Flynne fills in as his temporary replacement. But everything is not what it seems once Flynne believes she’s the lone witness to a murder.

According to Deadline, Joy and Nolan will produce via their Kilter Films production company. They are joined by Amazon Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Additional executive producers include Athena Wickham (Mission: Impossible III, Revolution), Steven Hoban (Splice, Come True), and showrunner Greg Plageman (NYPD Blue, FBI). Series creator and writer, Scott B. Smith (A Simple Plan, The Ruins), and director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, In the Tall Grass) will also executive produce.

The Peripheral was Gibson’s 13th novel when it was published in 2014. Similar to his other works, it’s described as a mystery-thriller set in a world where alternative futures exist. Gibson’s Agency, which debuted last year, is set in the same world.
