The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Netflix has cast its lead man in Marvel’s Daredevil; Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox.
Cox will star as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who fights crime as the masked superhero Daredevil at night, in the 13 episode Netflix drama. Cox is the first actor cast in the show, which will be overseen by Steven DeKnight, who is a veteran of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sparticus.
Netflix and Marvel have not commented on Cox’s casting. Netflix picked up Daredevil along with Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage in a pact with Marvel.
