Per Deadline, Hulu has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming half-hour comedy series, Chad Powers. The brief, fifteen-second teaser for the series, which will premiere in the fall of 2025, can be watched below.
Chad Powers hails from co-creators Glen Powell (Family Guy, Rick and Morty) and Michael Waldron (Loki, Heels). According to Deadline, the series will center around “hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, portrayed by Powell, whose bad behavior nukes his college career. As a result, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”
The teaser offers an inside look at Holliday’s transformation. “I got something coming up, and it’s something kind of big,” Powell says in the clip. With the help of a wig and some facial prosthetics, Holliday gets a second chance to achieve his dreams.
The Hulu series will also star Perry Mattfeld (In the Dark, Homecoming) as Ricky, Quentin Plair (Apples Never Fall, Genius) as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett (Sweet Magnolias, Young Rock) as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez (Bunk’d, Will & Grace) as Danny and Steve Zahn (Silo, The Righteous Gemstones) as Jake Hudson.
Chad Powers is based on the sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series, the half-hour comedy from 20th Television. Eli Manning (Capital One College Bowl) serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning (It’s All Country, Starting 5), Jamie Horowitz (Full Court Press, Quarterback), Ben Brown (Knuckles, The Sandman) and ESPN. Waldron and Adam Fasullo (Station Eleven, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) are executive producing for Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe (Mo, The Cool Kids) will executive produce alongside Tony Yacenda (Dave, Players), who will also serve as director together with Payman Benz (Blockbuster, Grand Crew).
