CBS’s ‘Clarice’ Debuts New Trailer During Super Bowl LV

The Silence of the Lambs sequel series, Clarice, is set to make its first season premiere on Thursday, February 11. Yet, before its premiere, during the CBS broadcast of Super Bowl LV, the network unveiled a new trailer for the thriller series, according to Deadline. The teaser trailer, entitled “Trying To Save The Lamb,” ran just over one minute during the Super Bowl where audiences got another glimpse of the FBI Agent Clarice Starling.

Clarice is primed to be the sequel series to the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs which saw Jodie Foster (Taxi Driver) as an FBI trainee Clarice Starling who is tasked with helping uncover who the serial killer Buffalo Bill is with some aid from conversations with convicted killer Hannibal Lecter, portrayed by Anthony Hopkins (Westworld, The Two Popes). Both the film and upcoming television adaptation are based on the 1988 novel by Thomas Harris. The CBS series will center once more on Starling a year after uncovering the identity and arresting Buffalo Bill as she confronts new cases while also exploring her own background further.

The CBS original series’ cast will feature Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) as Starling in addition to Michael Cudlitz (Band of Brothers, The Walking Dead) as Paul Krendler, Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar, House) as Emin Grigoryan, Lucca De Oliveira (SEAL Team) as Tomas Esquivel, Marnee Carpenter (Urges) as Cathernine Martin, Devyn A. Tyler (Watchmen) as Ardelia Mapp, and Nick Sandow (Orange is the New Black) as Murray Clarke. The series hails from the minds of creators Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) and Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married).
