CBS Sets Premiere Dates for ‘Big Bang Theory,’ ‘NCIS,’ ‘Pure Genius’ and More

After NBC, Fox and The CW revealed their fall premiere dates, CBS is the next network to do the same, setting return dates for old favorites like The Big Bang Theory and NCIS and new shows like Pure Genius and Bull, according to Variety.

Because CBS has football games broadcasted Thursday nights, a lot of the show on CBS’ schedule will change throughout the fall and will also cause some of the shows that air Sunday nights to air at a later time.

CBS’s premiere week kicks off with Case Closed, a three-part unscripted series about the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. The show premieres on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:30 p.m. and will be two hours.

Monday, Sept. 19 has the season 10 premiere of The Big Bang Theory leading off the night in the 8 p.m. timeslot. Immediately following is new comedy Kevin Can Wait, which stars Kevin James in his return to comedy television. The show will hold the 8:30 p.m. timeslot. At 9 p.m., the second part of Case Closed will air until 11 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 20 features the return of NCIS at 8 p.m., which is entering its 14th season with Wilmer Valderrama filling the spot left by Michael Weatherly’s departure at the end of the 13th season. But for NCIS fans who are going to miss seeing Weatherly on their screens, they just have to wait another hour as Weatherly’s new show, Bull, premieres at 9 p.m. Rounding out the night is NCIS: New Orleans, which will have its third season premiere at 10 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 21 has the premiere of one CBS long-running reality show and the season finale of another one of their famed reality show franchises. At 8 p.m., Survivor returns for its 33rd season and will be an hour and a half. At 9:30 p.m., Big Brother has its season finale and will also be an hour and a half.

Friday, Sept. 23 marks the series premiere of the rebooted MacGyver series at 8 p.m. The reboot is followed by the seventh season premiere of Hawaii Five-0 at 9 p.m. and the seventh season premiere of Blue Bloods at 10 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 25 has the premiere of 60 Minutes at 7:30 p.m. When the show is done, the final installment of Closed Case will air at 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 28 marks Survivor returning to its regular 8 p.m. timeslot. Criminal Minds will air its season 12 premiere at 9 p.m. and will introduce Adam Rodriguez in new role. At 10 p.m., Code Black will have its season two premiere.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, NCIS: Los Angeles has its eighth season premiere at 8 p.m. Madam Secretary returns for its third season at 9 p.m. and Elementary returns for its fifth season at 10 p.m.

Scorpion has its third season debut on Monday Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. and the premiere episode will be two hours long. The following Monday (Oct. 10), will feature an hourlong episode of 2 Broke Girls from 9 to 10 p.m., followed by Scorpion taking over its regular timeslot of Monday nights at 10 p.m.

On Oct. 17, 2 Broke Girls takes over its regular Monday at 9 p.m. timeslot and The Odd Couple will have its third season premiere at 9:30 p.m.

The following Monday, Oct. 24, sees Kevin Can Wait moving to the 8 p.m. timeslot and Man With a Plan has its series premiere at 8:30 p.m. 2 Broke Girls, The Odd Couple and Scorpion remain in their normal timeslots.

Thursday, Oct. 27 has The Big Bang Theory return to its normal timeslot of 8 p.m. The show will be followed by the premiere of The Great Indoors at 8:30 p.m.

Mom has its fourth season premiere at 9 p.m. and the second season of Life in Pieces will premiere at 9:30 p.m. Pure Genius, the new drama from Jason Katims, who also worked on Parenthood and Friday Night Lights, will be the last of CBS’ fall shows to premiere and will air at 10 p.m. Thursday nights.
