Due to the WGA strike, the premiere date for season fourteen of The Talk was postponed. However, now that the WGA strike has ended, the daytime talk show has announced its official return. According to Deadline, the new season of The Talk will premiere on CBS on Monday, October 9th.
The official Instagram account for The Talk, which is @thetalkcbs, announced the premiere date in a post. The post, which can be viewed below, states, “We’re excited to announce that we will be kicking off Season 14 on Monday, October 9th at 2pmET/1pmPT on @cbstv!”
Created by Sara Gilbert (The Conners, The Big Bang Theory), The Talk revolves around a set of panelists who discuss current happenings, pop culture, and more. Not only do the panelists discuss their own opinions about a topic, but various guests are invited to share their insights as well. A new one-hour episode airs each weekday.
The main panelists include Akbar Gbajabiamila (America Ninja Warrior, Fight to Survive), Amanda Kloots (Fit for Christmas, The Irishman), Natalie Morales (No Hard Feelings, Language Lessons), Jerry O’Connell (Kangaroo Jack, Play Dead), and Sheryl Underwood (ComicView, Beauty Shop).
As Deadline notes, the series also has a new showrunner and executive producer Rob Crabbe (The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon).
According to Deadline, The Talk initially set the return of the show for September 18th despite the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes at the time. This decision was not widely accepted, and WGA picketers targeted The Talk outside the Radford Studio Center, which is also referred to as the CBS Studio Center. After Drew Barrymore postponed her talk show, The Talk followed suit and postponed the premiere until after the strike ended.
Now fans of The Talk can look forward to tuning in daily again to catch up on all of the latest entertainment news.
