According to Deadline, CBS is slated to develop a new single-camera, office workplace comedy titled Talk Nerdy to Me by American author, journalist, podcaster, and budding screenwriter, Dana Schwartz (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Bring it On: Halloween). The series is currently in early development at CBS and will be executive produced by Dan Hernandez (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, The Addams Family 2) and Benji Samit (Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion, One Day at a Time) as part of an overall deal with Disney Television Studios. Schwartz herself is also slated to serve as an executive producer for the series alongside Hernandez and Samit via their production studio Hermit House.
As written by Deadline, this workplace satire will purportedly follow the dorky but hectic lives of two sisters with drastically different perspectives of nerd culture as they attempt to navigate the scrupulous and sometimes unforgiving world of female fandom.
ABC Signature Studios will produce Talk Nerdy to Me with Oly Obst (The Lovebirds, Barely Famous) and Katie Newman (Primeval, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands) from 3 Arts Entertainment also serving as executive producers for the series in correspondence with Schwartz, Hernandez, and Samit.
Schwartz is best known for her work as an author, namely, the New York Times bestselling novel, Anatomy: A Love Story, which was released earlier this year back in January and will be followed by a sequel novel by the name of Immortality: A Love Story, which is slated to drop in February of 2023. Schwartz is also famously known for being the host and creator of the chart topping iHeartRadio podcast Noble Blood, a half-hour to hour-long program which closely examines the complicated and often times scandalous lives of various historical royal and noble figures.
So far, a release date for Talk Nerdy to Me has yet to be announced by CBS.
