According to Deadline, CBS has announced the renewal of long-running reality shows Survivor, ahead of season 50, and The Amazing Race. All new seasons for both shows will broadcast on February 25, 2026.
Since its debut in September of 2001, The Amazing Race is a reality show that follows two teams all over the world that compete in feats that challenges both brain and brawn. There even is a family edition of the show. According to Deadline, the show’s long time running host, Phil Keoghan (Rudy, Remember the Titans), returns to lead the show for season 39 after the wrap up of season 38 in 2025. Survivor is a show that takes fifteen people and puts them on an island, letting them get their own food and water. They have to survive and do challenges to not be eliminated and sent off the island. The last one standing gets the prize.
According to Deadline, these renewals come after Paramount recently green lit new seasons of scripted series like Tracker, Elsbeth, Matlock, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, and the NCIS franchise for its broadcast network. More shows and seasons are coming quarterly through 2026 and through 2027.
Deadline continues that Survivor was created by S.E.G Holdco executive producers Mark Burnett (The Bible, Son of God), host Jeff Probst (Kiss me, Sound FX), Matt VanWagenen (Survivor, Sightings), Kahaia Pearson (Survivor), and Jesse Jensen (Xeno, Wasted).
Finally, Deadline concludes The Amazing Race seasons are produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Worldrace Productions along with ABC Studios and Amazing Race Productions. Bertram van Munster (The Amazing Race, The Quest) and Elise Doganieri (The Amazing Race, The Quest) are the series creators, with Bruckheimer (Top Gun, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl), Keoghan (Tough as Nails, Le Ride) and Patrick Cariaga (Race to the Center of the Earth, The Amazing Race) as executive producers.
