The upcoming series Clarice, a spin-off series of the 1991 film Silence of the Lambs, will premiere its first season on February 11 on CBS, according to Deadline. In addition to this news of its premiere, the series also released a first-look teaser trailer for the upcoming thriller drama series. The spin-off program comes from the minds of Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married) and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, The Mummy). Lumet and Kurtzman will act as executive producers for the series along with Heather Kadin (Stark Trek: Discovery, Scorpion) and Elizabeth Klaviter (Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy).
Clarice is aimed to take place in 1993, two years after the arrest of Buffalo Bill in the parent film. The spin-off series will once more center on the FBI agent Clarice Starling and is portrayed by Rebecca Breeds (Home and Away, The Originals). Additional casting includes the likes of Lucca de Oliveira (Animal Kingdom, SEAL Team), Devyn Tyler (Watchmen), Nick Sandow (Orange Is The New Black), and Marnee Carpenter (Criminal Minds). Michael Cudlitz (Band of Brothers, The Walking Dead) will portray Paul Krendeler and Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle) will play the character of Shaan Tripathi.
