Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, networks, including CBS, have moved around their fall lineup. Yesterday, CBS announced that NCIS: Sydney, the new series coming to Paramount+ Australia, will air on November 13. According to Deadline, “This morning, the network released a trailer for NCIS: Sydney, which features some familiar images for franchise fans – the signature NCIS uniforms and action on the water. There is also a lot of new scenery, with signature Australian vistas, including the famous Sydney Harbor, and a kangaroo.”
Morgan O’Neill (Solo) is the executive producer and creator of NCIS: Sydney. Via Deadline, “… NCIS: Sydney sees rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific. The brilliant and eclectic team of U.S NCIS Agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multi-national task force, to keep naval crimes in check, in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.” NCIS: Sydney is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Paramount Australia and CBS Studios. Endemol Shine Australia is a local international co-production for the American studio.
The one minute and forty-seven second trailer for the new show in the NCIS franchise shows NCIS working alongside the AFP in Australia to solve cases and against terrorists, in “the most contested patch of water on the planet”, against the world’s most venomous snake. The show stars Australia’s Todd Lasance (Terminus) as Sergeant Jim Dempsey and partner Agent Michelle Mackey, played by Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow). The duo have to adapt to working as a team and playing by each other’s rules. The cast line up, according to Deadline, also includes, “… Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent, DeShawn Jackson, Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liaison Officer, Constable Evie Cooper; Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensic Scientist, Bluebird ‘Blue’ Gleeson and Wiliam McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist, Dr Roy Penrose.”
NCIS: Sydney airs on CBS on Monday November 13.
