

The 2025 Emmy Awards officially have a date! with the 77th According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 77th Primetime ceremony is scheduled to air live on CBS on Sunday, September 14. The event will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, kicking off at 8 p.m. ET and lasting for more than three hours. In addition to being broadcast on television, the ceremony will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ for subscribers with the Showtime bundle, who can either watch the live feed of their local CBS station or stream it on demand.
Looking back at the 2024 Emmy Awards, FX’s Shōgun dominated the drama categories, while Hacks pulled off a surprising win for Best Comedy over The Bear. Despite this upset, The Bear still secured major victories, with cast members Jeremy Allen White (Shameless), Liza Colón-Zayas (In Treatment) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls, The Punisher) all earning acting awards. Christopher Storer (Ramy, Eighth Grade) took home the Emmy for Best Directing in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, Baby Reindeer also made a strong impression, winning four awards, including Best Limited or Anthology Series. Richard Gadd (Code 404, Wedding Season) received recognition for his work on the show, earning both Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series and the Emmy for Best Writing in the category.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that, leading up to the main event, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which celebrate achievements in technical and behind-the-scenes categories, will take place on September 6 and 7. The full list of nominations for this year’s Emmys will be announced on July 15, though details regarding the ceremony’s host and production team have yet to be confirmed. This marks the second consecutive year that the Emmys are returning to their usual September time slot, following a major scheduling disruption in 2023 when the awards were postponed until January 2024 due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes.
