A workplace comedy hailing from The Office‘s Ben Silverman (Ugly Betty) and Paul Lieberstein (King of The Hill) Remote is in development through CBS All Access, according to Deadline. Big Breakfast is also attached, a comedy banner under Silverman and Howard Owens’ Propagate Content, with CBS All Access producing. The series relates to the switch to remote office work due to COVID-19 pandemic, set around a boss who having employees work virtually and interact face-to-face all day.
“So many of us are jumping on daily Zoom meetings — for work and beyond,” Silverman told Deadline. “We are in a new normal and are personally navigating ways to remain connected and productive at work and in our home lives. With the brilliant Paul Lieberstein at the helm, we think we have a series that not only brings humor and comfort during this troubling time but will also be an inventive and enduring workplace comedy for years to come.”
Silverman, Liberstien and Howard Owens’ Propagate Content executive produce. Big Breakfast’s Luke Kelly-Clyne (I Want My Phone Back) and Kevin Healey (Fameless) and Propagate’s Rodney Ferrell also serve as executive producers.
“Start with the office comedy, lose the office and you’re just left with comedy. The math works,” Lieberstein said via Deadline.
There is no word for when Remote will debut.
