CBS All Access Releases Trailer for TV Adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’

The CBS All Access upcoming limited series The Stand has released a new promo trailer prior to its release on the streaming platform, according to Screen Rant. Based on the horror novel from Stephen King (It), the streaming television series will hit the CBS service on December 17. Initially, the adaptation was to take form in a film medium before transitioning to a ten-episode miniseries. 

The upcoming project was developed for television by Benjamin Cavell (Justified, Homeland) and Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) with Boone providing help in the director’s chair. Additionally, the series will be executive produced by Cavell, Boone, King, Richard P. Rubinstein (Dawn of the Dead), Roy Lee (The Ring, The Departed, Bates Motel), and many others. 

The Stand will follow the narrative of the parent novel and center on survivors living in an apocalypse after death and plague offer fatal impacts to modern society. The series cast will feature the likes of James Marsden (Westworld, The Butler), Odessa Young (The Daughter), Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine), Amber Heard (Pineapple Express, Aquaman), Whoopi Goldberg (The Color Purple, Ghost), Ezra Miller (Trainwreck, Justice League), Nat Wolff (Paper Towns), Henry Zaga (Teen Wolf), Heather Graham (Twin Peaks, The Hangover), Alexander Skarsgård (Generation Kill, True Blood), and many more.
