CBS’ All-Access Star Trek: Discovery releases the season two trailer, and this one includes the young Spock, who will be payed by Ethan Peck. The new trailer was revealed this weekend at New York Comic-Con and it gives a sneak peek for audiences to see not only a young Spock but a bearded one as well. The packed trailer shows off the series’ main cast as they look for an in danger Spock and a celestial being that is called “the Red Angel.”
Here’s the trailer:
Sonequa Martin-Green playing as the character Michael Burnham (a scientist) states that she has seen the Red Angel, and by the looks of it, the angel will play pivotal role in the upcoming season. Burnham says in voice over in the trailer, “I’ve seen this angel too. And I had this unmistakable feeling that everything was going to be alright.” The Red Angel is the main focus of the trailer.
The trailer is also filled with action scenes, and tension is built throughout it. They are in an asteroid field, fear of a trap, a feeling that things are exactly right, Discovery gets damage, and to top it off a “deeply insane plan.” This all builds up to the moment where we get to see a short bit of an injured Spock that suddenly waking up aboard the Discovery.
The trailer heavy uses both Martin-Green and the ship’s new captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount. And as announced earlier Peck will be taking over the role of a young Spock. They will also be joined by two new cast members Tig Notaro and Rebecca Romijn. The logline for the new season will center around, “on the continued voyage of the U.S.S. Discovery and its crews’ mission to discover new worlds and new life forms.”
