Deadline has reported that Saturday Night Live recently parodied The Hunting Wives, and the cast of the hit Netflix series adored it. One of the cast members, Malin Akerman (The Final Girls, Rock Of Ages), took to Instagram to share her thoughts. “Omg @nbcsnl this is the best thing I’ve ever seen!!! 😂 Hunting wives Season 2 premiere (?!) Yessssss!!!!!”

According to Deadline, Amy Poehler (Inside Out, Parks And Recreation) played Akerman’s Margo Banks in the spoof and starts the sketch off with a bang by almost immediately flashing Chloe Fineman (High Fidelity, Search Party). Fineman’s character was a spin on Brittany Snow’s (John Tucker Must Die, Pitch Perfect) Sophie. The joke was in reference to the pair’s initial meeting on the show. Margo’s wigs were not immune to jest, as the narrator says, “they are doing their best in the sketch.”

Via Deadline, Katie Lowes (Scandal, The Sopranos), who plays Jill, shared a reaction video of her and her co-stars, Akerman and Jaime Ray Newman (Catch Me If You Can, Made Of Honor) at the EMA Awards Gala. “HUNTING WIVES ON @nbcsnl!! We were DYING. Love you” she captioned.

According to Deadline, Snow left a comment on the post, quoting the sketch, “It’s just us and the beans baby! 😂”

Via Deadline, Newman also got in on the fun, posting to her Instagram story and singing the praises of Saturday Night Live. Newman plays the character Callie on the show. “SNL?!?!? Mind officially BLOWN @thehuntingwives @nbcsnl”

Deadline has reported that even the original author of The Hunting Wives source material, May Cobb (My Summer Darling, The Hollywood Assistant) got in on the fun by posting the sketch and its write-up to her socials.

According to Deadline, the sketch ended with the entrance of Aubrey Plaza’s (Parks And Recreation, Dirty Grandpa)“new new girl who joins the group.” Plaza’s character had just moved from California and professes that she is a lesbian. The women immediately pull out their rifles.
