The cartoon TV channel is producing two new shows, Exchange Student Zero and Monster Beach.
Cartoon Network has started the production of two new projects made in the Asia-Pacific region intended for global distribution. Both shows, Exchange Student Zero and Monster Beach, are produced by Australia’s Bogan Entertainment Solutions.
Exchange Student Zero will start with 13 episodes of 22 minutes. The cartoon series tells the story of two boys who bring an anime character from a fantasy card game to life and pass him off as an exchange student. Exchange Student Zero will be ready to air in 2015.
Monster Beach, also produced by Bogan, tells the story about surfing, scary locals and two kids battling to save their worst nightmare from happening.
Exchange Student Zero marks the first time that a TV series made in the region is for global distribution. Chief Content Officer Mark Eyers stated that “since the very early days at Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific we have produced local content. Exchange Student Zero confirms our continued commitment to producing exclusive and compelling creator-driven local content with export potential.”
