Sailor Moon is one of the most famous anime since its release in 1991 when Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon Eternal, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R The Movie) drew the manga. It wasn’t long till the manga was brought to life on the small screen. Toei Animation was the company that shared Sailor Moon as an anime to television, and since then, the series has had different seasons, and its first one is iconic for anime lovers. Today, it looks like the show’s uncensored dub will finally be ready to debut in the USA on TV, Comicbook.com reports.
Toonami Rewind, an upcoming late-night section under Cartoon Network, will be similar to TeenNick for Nickelodeon by releasing older anime to TV once again for Gen X and Millenial audience. According to Comicbook.com, the section will release three specific anime series first: Dragon Ball Z Kai, Naruto and Sailor Moon.
According to Comicbook.com, Sailor Moon’s recent Viz Media dub will be sent out to Toonami Rewind. This dub differs from the one the channel first released in the U.S. in November 2014, where the company was the first to receive the rights to create a dub to promote the anime in English, which was completely censored. That is because the show’s LGBTQ themes, gender exploration and violent content were frowned upon in the USA at that time. So, many of these topics were deleted from the dub. Now, Viz Media will finally release this faithful dub to the anime on May 31, 2024, on Toonami Rewind.

The channel will focus exclusively on old anime for nostalgic anime lovers to watch on TV. If this section gets good views, netizens would love for Toonami to add anime like Trigun or Cardcaptor Sakura to their schedule.
