James Corden and Carpool Karaoke are coming back to primetime. Variety has confirmed that CBS is airing a second edition of Carpool Karaoke at the end of May.
The special, which will air on May 22 at 10 p.m. on CBS, is a continuation of Corden’s well known special that takes place during the Late Late Show, which starts at 12:35 a.m. on CBS.
In addition to showing a new segment of Carpool Karaoke, the special will also feature special guests, Corden’s favorite moments from Late Late Show and more Toddlerography.
This is Corden’s second primetime special when it comes to Carpool Karaoke. His first one scored him an Emmy win for Outstanding Variety Special and garnered a 0.9 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic and was watched by 4.3 million viewers.
Carpool Karaoke first started back in 2011, when Corden performed with the now deceased George Michael for Britain’s Comic Relief fundraiser. Since then, it’s become a smash hit, with the videos on YouTube quickly garnering millions of viewers. Adele’s segment is the most watched, with 154 million viewers.
Some of the other popular videos include Lady Gaga and Madonna.
The segment has become such a hit that Apple Music has commissioned 16 half-hour segments that will air exclusively on the music streaming site for Apple users.
Corden also has an upcoming show Drop The Mic, which will air on TBS, which is based off another popular segment that is part of the Late Late Show.
The second primetime edition of Carpool Karaoke will air on Monday, May 22 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
