Cameron Mathison is the New ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Weekend Co-Anchor & Correspondent

Soap opera star Cameron Mathison has been tapped to be Entertainment Tonight‘s new weekend co-anchor and correspondent.

According to VarietyMathison will be full-time correspondent and a weekend co-anchor. He will be a fill-in anchor for the newsmagazine.

Mathison is famous for his recurring role on All My Children as Ryan Lavery from 1998 to 2011. He also hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet coverage as a guest correspondent on ET in 2014.

Executive producer Brad Bessey talked highly of the new correspondent. “Cameron is hardworking, charismatic, comfortable on set, on the red carpets and in intimate celebrity one-on-ones. He’s joined us for special assignments throughout the year, and we are thrilled that he is now a permanent member of the Entertainment Tonight team.”

Later this month Mathison will start his gig on the show. He will be joining hosts Nancy O’Dell and Kevin Frazier, plus correspondents Brooke Anderson and Nischelle Turner.

Cameron Mathison’s credits include hosting I Wanna Be A Soap Star on SOAPnet from 2004 to 2007, and in 2008 he co-hosted the 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards with Sherri Shepherd. Mathison is known for competing on Season 5 of Dancing With The Stars, and he’s also a feature correspondent for Good Morning America.
