Deadline reports that the Friday the 13th prequel series has found its infamous villain. Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River) will play Jason Voorhees in the Peacock series Crystal Lake. Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice, Warrior) takes on the roles of creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer.
Via Deadline, Linda Cardnelli (Scooby-Doo, Dead To Me) will play Pamela Voorhees in the upcoming series. She is believed to be the former aspiring singer who falls into villainy after the death of her child with special needs.
According to Deadline, the series will center on Pamela’s character and her murder spree after her son’s accident. Jason sets off on a killing spree of his own after witnessing his mother’s decapitation.
Via Deadline, Ari Lehman (Appetite For Sin, Erotomaniac) was the first actor to wear Jason’s hockey mask. Still, the franchise has had many actors play the role, including Warrington Gillette (Timewalker, Penny Dreadful) Steve Dash (Stagemoore, Hemo), Richard Brooker (Deathstalker, The Optimist) Ted White (Starman, Romancing The Stone), Tom Morga (Star Trek: Voyager, Separate Lives), C.J. Graham (The Heartsmith, Fanboy), Kane Hodder (The Family Business, Tow), Ken Kirzinger (The Assignment, Human Target), and Derek Mears (Swamp Thing, Salem’s Lot).
Deadline reports that other cast for the upcoming series include Nick Cordileone (Warrior, Cupid), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut, Person Of Interest), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead).
According to Deadline, Pavernick’s character, Barry, and Kotch’s Claudette were both in the original film and were Pamela’s first two victims. Ralph, who will be played by Cordileone, was in the first two films as the town drunk who mumbles about the curse of Camp Crystal Lake. The prequel could provide some clues on how he developed this obsession. There is always the possibility of some story or character restructuring, so at the moment, this is just speculation.
Deadline reports that A24, Kane, Marc Toberoff (Prey, I Spy), Victor Miller (All My Children, Jason X), Robert M. Barsamian (Friday The 13th: The Game), Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashi (To Catch A Killer, Malcom & Marie) will all serve as executive producers.
According to Deadline, Rebel Creative Group & Innovative Artists represent Vinson. DGRW represents Cordlione. Amplified represents Suprano. Madhouse Talent Management and BRS / Gage represent Pavernick. Paradigm and Stagecoach Entertainment represent Kotch.
