Netflix has revealed the trailer for its coming film, Peaky Blinder: The Immortal Man, returns back to the streets of Birmingham, England and focusing on the action of the Shelby crime family since the finale back in April 3, 2022. According to Deadline, the film is scheduled to make a theater release on Mach 6 and a global release for March 20. Viewers will see the return of Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer, 28 Days Laters) reprising his role as Tommy Shelby, the main protagonist of the show.
Deadline announces, the trailer opens up with Tommy, who is older and less lethal walking through an abandoned building and then towards a cemetery. It than cut towards him interacting with old acquaintances and on a mission on finding his son. Duke played by Barry Keoghan (The Batman, The Eternals).
Reported by Deadline, the official tagline for the series goes on to states,”Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons and choose whether to confront his legacy or burn it to the ground.”
According to Deadline, the film will be directed by Tom Harper (Heart of Stones, The Aeronauts). The additional cast members of the upcoming film will include Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest Showman, Doctor Sleep), Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight), Sophie Rundle (Happy Valley, The Diplomat) and Jay Lycurgo (Titans, Last Swim). Additionally, there will be a series of alumni, which includes Ned Dennehy (Mandy, Underdogs), Packy Lee (The Shore, Free Fall), and Ian Peck (Robin Hood, The Wolfman).
This new addition to the franchise has the potential of attracting new audience and make it a global phenomenon once agains. All six seasons of Peaky Blinders are available to stream on Netflix.
