The internet is abuzz with excitement as a behind-the-scenes video from the set of Stranger Things season five has surfaced, seemingly confirming the return of a character previously believed to be deceased.According to Screenrant, the fifth and final season of the beloved paranormal Netflix series is scheduled to release sometime in 2025, and the series will take place eighteen months after the events of the fourth season, in which the town of Hawkins is overrun with creatures from the Upside Down.
According to Screenrant, it has been confirmed that major character that fans believe was dead will return, and it is no other than Dr Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine (Wrong Turn), who played a crucial part in the series. Martin was the one who created the gateway to the Upside Down and who experimented on children with unique gifts. Modine recently posted on his Instagram page teasing his character’s return to the series, showing the actor getting makeup put on as he seems a bit older from his last appearance.
This is not the first time we have seen the Doctor come back from a life-or-death situation; for instance, back in season one, he survived an attack from the Demogorgon.Theories have arisen on how the character seems to have come back from the dead as he got shot by a sniper while escaping with Eleven, played by Millie Bobbie Brown (Damsel), back in season four. According to Screenrant, explanations behind Dr. Brenner’s return are linked to the series, the mystery behind the Upside Down and its future villain, Camazotz.
