Bryan Cranston took to Instagram recently to announce his recovery from battle with COVID-19, as reported by Deadline. The Breaking Bad star says that he was very lucky to only have minor symptoms and reassures all concerned that he was able to quickly recover.
The 2:30 minute video shows a face mask-wearing Cranston visiting a UCLA Blood and Platelet Center to donate his antibody-positive plasma towards furthering research that might help other patients affected by the virus. In the video, Cranston urges others who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 to donate their plasma to help those in need. UCLA’s site also confirms that all donated plasma “could be used for compassionate treatment or as part of scientific trial to determine definitively if this treatment works, [or] used to support research efforts such as making tests to check immunity to the virus.” You can click here to learn more on how to donate your plasma if you’ve tested positive for COVID-19 in the past.
The rest of the video documents Cranston’s roughly 1 hour visit to the Platelet center, during which he maintained his signature jovial attitude while watching A Face in the Crowd starring Andy Griffith (The Andy Griffith Show).
The end of the video is accompanied with this personal message from Cranston:
“Hi. About now you’re probably feeling a little tied down, restricting your mobility adn like me, you’re tired of this!! Well, I just want to encourage you to have a little more patience. I was pretty strict in adhering to the protocols and still… I contracted the virus. Yep. It sounds daunting now that over 150,000 Americans are dead because of it. I was one of the luck ones. Mild symptoms. I count my blessings and urge you to keep wearing the damn mask, keep washing your hands, and stary socially distant. We can prevail – but ONLY if we follow the rules together.
