Season four of Bridgerton is returning, and Netflix just dropped the new trailer. The hit series appears to be channeling a bit of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella for this upcoming installment. Watch the trailer below.
Another eligible bachelor will try his best at the game of love in this season. Benedict Bridgerton faces maternal pressure to retire from his womanizing ways. He appears to be resistant to the proposition, as he is seen in the trailer with several women. That is, he meets masked women at the season’s masquerade ball. The clock strikes midnight, and the mysterious woman runs off, leaving only a glove. Unbeknownst to Benedict, the mysterious woman, Sophie, is not a lady of the court but a handmaid who had snuck into the high-society soiree.
Bridgerton follows a semi-anthologized style: the story is connected, but each season focuses on a different member of the titular family’s courtship. According to mxdwn, series showrunner Jess Brownell (Inventing Ana, Off The Map) spoke about this season’s romance.
“We talked a lot about going downstairs and how that would affect the overall tone of the show and I think, actually, it seamlessly blends into the themes that we were trying to explore this season,’ she explained. ‘Benedict very much lives in a fantasy world. Sophie very much lives in a harsher reality. The idea is that, for each of them, neither of those stations are where they need to live in order to find true love,” via Mxdwn.
mxdwn has reported that Luke Thompson (A Little Life, Transatlantic) and Yerin Ha (Bad Behavior, Reef Break) will take on the lead roles of Benedict and Sophie, respectively. Season four will premiere the first four episodes on January 29th, 2026. The final four episodes will be released a month later on February 29th, 2026.
