Breaking Free From The Upside Down: ‘Stranger Things’ Star Addresses Future Plans For The Series

The renonwed paranormal Netflix series, Stranger Things received an update on their upcoming fifth season and announced by star, Matthew Modine (Zero Day), who plays Dr. Martin Brenner within the series. According to mxdwn, we currently know that the fifth season will have a time skip and follow the events of the previous in which creature from the upside down have now closed into the town of Hawkins.

Modine goes on to give an update in an interview with Screenrant,”It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be… I mean, the Duffer Brothers are filmmakers, so I think that they wanted Season 1 to be one and done, like Zero Day, just a limited series. By, I don’t know, three or four episodes of filming, Netflix saw it as something that was incredible and different than what anybody imagined and expanded into five seasons.”

He continues his statement,”But they want to finish big, and then they want to get on with their lives because they have a lot of stories that they want to tell. This has been a gilded cage in a way that it’s a wonderful experience that they’re having, but they want to get on with their lives. They want to graduate, they want to graduate and get on with their lives.”

Via mxdwn, the season will not only show returning characters such as Mike, played by Finn Wolfhard (Ghostbuster:Frozen Empire), Eleven, played by Millie Bobbie Brown (Damsel) and Will, played by Noah Schnapp (Hubie Halloween), but also new addition to the franchise such as Nell Fisher (Bookworm), who will be playing Molly Wheeler, Jake Connelly (Between the Silence) and Alex Breaux (The Dead Don’t Hurt).

While fans of the series await on further information of the approaching season, the previous seasons of Stranger Things are avaiable to stream on Netflix.
