A source close to the project reported that Bravo will not follow through with its intended TV series adaptation of “Heathers”, according to BuzzFeed.
Bravo announced last September a potential to produce the series from Michael Lehmann and Daniel Water’s 1988 black comedy film. The idea generated from Mark Rizzo and Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City) who pitched the idea to Fox 2009 but could not make any headway, according to Indiewire.
The series would have begun two decades after the film’s setting with Winona Ryder’s character Veronica returning to Sherwood with her teenage daughter and dealing with the Ashleys, a generation of mean girls consisting of the daughters of a few of the Heathers, according to Indiewire.
The “Heather” series is for the second time dead, for now.
