On the next installment of True Detective, HBO is looking to bring in Brad Pitt to take on the lead role.
According to the Daily Star, Pitt, 50, is working out last-minute details with bosses at HBO. He put a green light on the project and the only thing to work around is his already scheduled movie commitments. He would take over the role in the second season. The first season starred Matthew McConaughey, 44, and Woody Harrelson, 52.
A source confirmed, “Brad is already part of the HBO family and if commitments allow he will be part of the second season of True Detective…The quality of the scripts means the biggest A-listers in the world want the role.”
There has been much speculation over who would take on the role after HBO confirmed McConaughey and Harrelson would not return for the second seas.
There are still discussions being made about who might join Pitt in the series and rumors that he may work alone.
