‘Bosch: Legacy’s Titus Welliver Updates on Season Three and the Spin-Off Series on Prime Video

Fans have been waiting almost a year for a third season of Bosch: Legacy, released on Amazon Freeve. According to Comicbook.com, they won’t have to wait any longer as the police series will start back up at the beginning of 2025. Along with the series, viewers will also expect a spinoff focused on Maggie Q’s (The Divergent Series: Insurgent) Renee Ballard.

There is no set date for Bosch:Legacy but a prediction has been made for 2025. The character Renee Ballard will be introduced in the third season of the original show. Her spinoff will be released after she is shown and familiarized with the audience. Head star Titus Welliver (The TownSuits) stated that he is shooting the first episode of the spinoff series titled Ballard. The program will only have three episodes but has no set release date. However, Welliver is optimistic about an entrusted release date as he is in constant communication with Prime Video. He stated that the producers are showcasing different things, making the show more exciting than the previous season. According to Comicbook.com Welliver said in a previous interview, “So I’m excited for this third season to come out because I think it’s truly one of the best and I mean, including Bosch in the ten years that I’ve been doing this. It’s a really, really substantive season for us.”

Bosch: Legacy was made after Prime Video’s Bosch, which aired from 2014 through 2021. The series is based on book series and follows Harry Bosch who is retired from his work as an LAPD officer and is now a private investigator. The show’s actors include Anthony Gonzalez (Coco) , Danielle Larracuente (Snowfall), David Moses (Storm), Denise G. Sanchez (The Good Place), Madison Lintz (The Good Place), Mimi Rogers (The X Files), Stephen Chang (Captain Marvel) and many others. Before the second season aired, the show had already been renewed for a third season. The series premiered on Prime Video on May 6, 2022.

Ballard is the spinoff that deals with Renee Ballard, who is assigned to run the LAPD’s cold case unit. The synopsis describes the unit as “a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city. Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”

Author of the novels Michael Conelly is the executive producer beneath Hieronymous Pictures with Kendall Sherwood (Major Crimes), Michael Alaimo (Scrubs) and Trish Hoofman (Gringos). Fabel Entertainment has Henrik Bastin (100 Code)  and Melissa Aouate (Interrogation) as their executive producers. The co-producers are Jasmine Russ (Season) for Fabel Entertainment and Theresa Snider (The Safe Man) for Hieronymous Pictures. Co-executive producers are Jamie Boscardin Martin (Old Dads) and Trey Batchelor (Longmire). Kendall Sherwood (The Code) and Michael Alaimo (Space Jam) will be the showrunners.
