The Book of Boba Fett is officially a go at Disney+. Today, the streamer announced that The Mandalorian spin-off will premiere on Wednesday, December 29 on the platform.
The Book of Boba Fett was teased at the end of the second season of The Mandalorian. In a press release announcing the data, the story will follow bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) navigating the galaxy’s underworld as they return to Tatooine to take over the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
The Mandalorian director Jon Favreau (Iron Man) will executive produce the spin-off alongside Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Bad Batch), Kathleen Kennedy (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids), and Colin Wilson (Avatar).
Morrison first appeared in the Star Wars franchise in the prequel series, playing Jenga Fett, who was used to create the clone army of the Republic in Attack of the Clones. He returned for Episode III as various clone troopers. He then voiced in many Star Wars games before returning to live-action as Boba Fett in season two of The Mandalorian.
The Book of Boba Fett is one of many Star Wars projects coming to Disney+. Obi-Wan Kenobi recently wrapped filming in May, and The Mandalorian season three is in the works. Another spin-off on Ahsoka Tano is also in the works with Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage) reprising her role from The Mandalorian‘s second season.
The Book of Boba Fett will stream on December 29, exclusively on Disney+.
