Deadline has reported that the limited mystery drama Bodies (UK) has taken the highest spot in Netflix’s English series top 10. The series has received 7.7 million views.
Bodies is based on the DC Vertigo graphic novel series by Si Spencer (Slash & Burn Vol. 1, The Vinyl Underground: Watching the Detectives) of the same title. It follows four detectives in various eras of Whitechapel, London who find the body of the same murder victim.
The series stars Shira Haas (Unorthodox, Shtisel) as DC Maplewood, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit, See How They Run) as DS Whiteman, Stephen Graham (Time, This is England) as Elias Mannix, Kyle Soller (Andor, Poldark) as DI Hillinghead, Amaka Okafor (The Sandman, Greatest Days) as DS Hasan, Synnove Karlsen (Clique, Last Night in Soho) as Polly, and Tom Mothersdale (Electric Dreams, Van der Valk) as Gabriel Defoe.
Bodies debuted on Netflix on October 19.
The second series on Netflix’s English top 10 is the true crime documentary Get Gotti with 7.3 million views. Get Gotti was released on Netflix on October 24 and tells the story of the FBI’s attempts to bring down mob boss John Gotti.
Third place on the list is the natural history documentary Life on Our Planet with 5.5 million views. The series is narrated by Morgan Freeman (Seven, The Shawshank Redemption) and debuted on Netflix on October 25.
The Fall of the House of Usher was number four on the list. The series was created by Mike Flanagan and premiered on Netflix on October 12. The cast features Kate Siegel (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House), Carla Gugino (Spy Kids, Gerald’s Game), and Mark Hamill (The Machine, Child’s Play). It received 4.2 million views.
Fifth place was Beckham with 4 million views. Sex Education season four received 1.7 million views and took the eighth spot, which made this its sixth week on the list.
All three parts of Lupin, the French Crime series, were in the Top 10 Non-English TV series list, with Part 3 in second with 4.7 million views and Parts 1 and 2 both with 2 million views at six and seven.
