Fox’s animated comedy wins big with a two season renewal.
The comedy about a family running a burger place, was renewed for a seventh and eighth season by Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show has done consistently well in its Sunday night time slot. In 2014 it won an Emmy for outstanding animated comedy. It also received two nominations this year as well.
Bob’s Burgers was created by Loren Bouchard and Bento Box Entertainment. It’s currently airing its sixth season on Fox on Sunday nights.
“Six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America’s most beloved TV families, and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons,” said Fox Broadcasting Co. Entertainment president David Madden in a statement about the renewal. “Bob’s Burgers is hilarious, warm, smart, inventive — critics love it, and so do fans. Loren, Jim [Dauterive] and the brilliant voice cast continue to surprise us in the best ways, and we look forward to seeing what Bob and the family will cook up in seasons seven and eight.”
The next episode of season two, airing tonight, features the returning guest star Billy Eichner. Eichner plays a librarian who gets tired of Tina Belcher. A clip for the episode that features Eichner’s character can be seen below.
