Hulu’s limited series Nine Perfect Strangers has added Bobby Cannavale (Homecoming, Mrs. America) to its cast. Cannavale will be series regular joining leads Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) and Melissa McCarthy (The Kitchen, Can You Ever Forgive Me), via Deadline. The Hulu exclusive is based on author Liane Moriarty’s (Big Little Lies) latest novel.
Executive produced and co-written by David E. Kelley (The Practice, Ally McBeal), Nine Perfect Strangers takes place at a health and wellness resort focused on healing the troubled, downtrodden minds and bodies of its guests. Kidman will play Masha, the director of the resort.
The star-studded cast already boasts Micahel Shannon (Man of Steel, The Shape of Water), Regina Hall (Black Monday, Support the Girls), Manny Jacinto ( The Good Place), Tiffany Boone (Hunters, Little Fires Everywhere), Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast, Ma), Melvin Gregg (#BlackAF, High Flying Bird), Grace Van Patten (Tramps), Asher Keddie (Stateless), and Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, Hollywood).
According to Deadline, Kelley will serve as co-showrunner with John Henry Butterworth (Ford v. Ferrari, Get On Up). Both Kelley and Butterworth will co-write along with Samantha Strauss (The End). Additional producers include Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Kidman’s Blossom Films, and Endeavor Content. The series is set to debut in 2021.
