‘Blue Bloods’ Alum Jennifer Esposito Set To Reprise Her Role For Season 14

Blue Bloods will bring back one of their original cast members, Jennifer Esposito (The Affair, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens), for their 14th and final season run. According to TVLine, Esposito will be reprising her role as Jackie Curatola earlier during the season. As reported before, the season will host 18 episodes that will debut on different dates; the first 10 episodes will premiere this Friday, Feb 16, and the last eight are expected to premiere in the fall.

The second episode of the upcoming season, which is entitled “Dropping Bombs” and drops on Friday, Feb. 23, follows Baez, portrayed by Marisa Ramirez (General Hospital, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena), and Danny, portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg (Saw II, Dreamcatcher), who team up with Danny’s former partner, Jackie, after a serial killer resurfaces.

As TVLine notes, the episode will also feature Will Estes’ (U-571, The Dark Knight Rises) character, Jamie, who finds himself in conflict with Joe Hill, played by guest star Will Hochman (Let Him Go, The Greatest Beer Run Ever), after his nephew meddles with Jamie’s undercover operation. Additionally, Eddie, portrayed by Vanessa Ray (Pretty Little Liars, Damages), faces criticism for helping a woman who accuses a sergeant of sexual assault, while Frank, portrayed by Tom Selleck (In & Out, Magnum, P.I.), is caught off guard when Mayor Chase publicly proposes the reinstatement of a Commission of Police.

The hit CBS police drama series featured Esposito as a main character for the first two seasons, but she left at the beginning of season three. During the show’s season 13 finale, the Blue Bloods alum returned to reprise her character. The episode chronicled herself, Danny and Baez banding together to investigate a murder that shared all the same characteristics of the serial killer named Dr. Leonard Walker, played by Mather Zickel (Rachel Getting Married, I Love You, Man).

Blue Bloods season 14 will premiere on Friday, Feb.16 at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.
