Fans of the popular gothic anime rejoice as Black Butler is making a dramatic comeback after its long hiatus. According to CBR, the name of season four will be dubbed Black Butler: Public School Arc, and will air in April 2024. The series has captured the heart of its audience with its gothic aesthetic, captivating characters, and a blend of action and mystery. The show’s third season aired from July to September 2014, marking its end almost a decade ago. The series first made its televised debut back in 2008, focused on the perspectives of Ciel Phantomhive voiced by Brina Palencia (My Hero Academia), and his loyal demon butler, Sebastian, voiced by J Michael Tatum (Attack on Titan), as the duo solves unsettling events around England.
A recent teaser for the upcoming season has been revealed with an improved art style. From it we see Sebastian serving Ciel, as they discuss their plans. According to CBR, season four will be directed by Kenjirou Okada, best known for directing March Comes In Like a Lion, and the music will be handled by Japanese composer, Ryo Kawasaki (Lucky Day). The studio Clover Works will be behind the animation. Their other well-known works are Promise Neverland, Spy x Family, and My Dress-Up Darling. With an amazing director and production team, the fourth season is sure to be impressive.
