Bill Murray has joined the cast of HBO’s miniseries called Olive Kitteridge.
According to Deadline, Bill Murray will join the cast of the miniseries based on Elizabeth Strout’s novel. The series is adapted by Jane Anderson and directed by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right).
The miniseries are about a New England town filled with crimes and tragedies, but it is seen through the eyes of Olive (Frances McDormand) who has strong moral ideas. Murray (who can be seen next year in The Grand Budapest Hotel) will play the role of Kitteridge’s friend, Jack Kennison, who is a local widower.
The miniseries will also star Richard Jenkins, John Gallagher Jr, Zoe Kazan, Jesse Plemons, Rosemarie DeWitt and Corey Smith. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will be the executive producers.
