

The hit western drama series, Ransom Canyon is gearing up production for its upcoming second season with exciting news. According to Deadline, we will see more of Casey W. Johnson (Rise, The Assistant) as he returns as Kit Russel, a character that gets into trouble leading others to clean up his mess. We last saw Russel getting arrested for a hit and run death of Randal Kirkland, played by Hubert Smielecki.
According to Deadline, production of Ransom Canyon’s second season is expected to start some time this fall and the location setting will be filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to Deadline, Ransom Canyon is based of the novel done by Jodi Thomas (Rustler’s Roof, Winter’s Camp) of the same name. This season will surely continue the plot of the series which follows three ranching houses battling to take control of the land.
According to Deadline, other characters alongside Casey that will return will be Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Safe Haven) as Staten Kirkland, and Minka Kelly (Titans, Blackwater Lane) as Quinn O’Grady. The familiar desert vistas and ranch sets will return to preserve the show’s visual continuity and atmosphere.
We will surely be introduced to new characters that will have a major impact that will shape the destination that the main characters will try to reach.
According to Deadline, we will surely see a major character development of Johnson’s Kit Russel character as he tries to not only better himself, but build a stronger connection with his brother, Lucas Russell played by Garrett Wareing (Manifest, Boychoir). This evolution of Kit Russel shows the important impact he will have in the upcoming season.
The second season will surely continue the same blend of romance, thriller and western genre that the series is well known.
