Romantsy fans can rejoice. According to Deadline, Penn Cole’s (Burn Of The Everflame, Heart Of The Everflame) best selling novel Spark Of The Everflame, is in development with Hulu. Spark Of The Everflame is the first novel in the series The Kindred’s Curse Saga. Death And Other Details co-creator Hedi Cole McAdams (The 100, Stumptown) is attached the project as an executive producer. Cole will serve as a producer.

Everflame is set in a world where god like creatures called The Descended rule over humans. Mortals are subjected to inhumane conditions and poverty. After the sudden disappearance of her mother Diem Bellator must search above her standing in order to return her mother to safety. The prime suspect is Prince Luther Corbois, and as she searches for evidence she becomes involved in the makings of a revolution and a complicated romantic situation.

Previously Cole  series Death And Other Details aired on Hulu. In addition to co-creator she served as executive producer and showrunner. She is represented by UTA and Jeff Hynick at Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Cole originally self published her The Kindred’s Curse Saga in 2023. The novel quickly attracted a large fan base and was picked up quickly after it it’s initial publication. Atria would republish the book for wider release in 2024. Cole is now a New York Times, USA  Today, Der Spiegel, and Global and Mail bestselling author, her novels having sold over 3 Million copies across the US and internationally. The final book in The Kindred’s Curse Saga is scheduled for publication in September of this year. She is represented by WME and The Whalen Agency.
