Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Conjuring: Last Rites) has been cast in the leading role of Daniel West in Prime Video’s upcoming series Stillwater. According to Deadline, the eight-episode horror thriller is based on the Skybound graphic novel by Chip Zdarsky (Chipclass, MAD About DC) and Ramón K Pérez (Stillwater).

Stillwater follows Daniel West, an ex-con who receives a mysterious letter offering answers about his past along with the promise of a substantial inheritance. The letter leads him to the small town of Stillwater, where he discovers a community in which nothing ever ages, no one ever dies and nobody is able to leave.

The one-hour drama comes from executive producers Greg Berlanti (You, The Flash) and Carly Wray (Watchmen, Westworld), who co-wrote the pilot episode.

The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios. Prime Video gave Stillwater an eight-episode series order ahead of San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026.

Hardy most recently starred in The Conjuring: Last Rites alongside Mia Tomlinson (The Beast Must Die, The Lost Pirate Kingdom), which Deadline reports debuted with the highest-grossing horror opening of all time. His other recent projects include Love at First Sight and Unicorns, with the latter earning him a British Independent Film Award nomination.

Hardy previously portrayed Queen drummer Roger Taylor (Flash Gordon, Highlander) opposite Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody, Mr. Robot, No Time to Die) in Bohemian Rhapsody. His additional credits include The Girl Before, The Voyeurs, X-Men: Apocalypse and 6 Underground.

Hardy will next appear opposite Felicity Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Theory of Everything, Like Crazy) in Eleven Missing Days, an independent film centered on the disappearance of Agatha Christie and directed by Bertie Ellwood (Hawkeye, Silo).

Additional casting details and a premiere date for Stillwater have not yet been announced.
