According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Affleck (Zack Synder’s Justice League, Argo, Good Will Hunting) starred in another Dunkin’ Donut commercial on-site in a hometown location in Boston. The second commercial premiered this morning on April 3, during early news program Good Morning America, following Affleck posing as a customer attempting a “meta” commercial while cashiers mistake him for common acting counterpart Matt Damon (The Martian, Ocean’s Eleven, Good Will Hunting).
In a native Bostonian accent, he walks to the counter and says, “I’m here for the Dunkin’ run campaign commercial, it’s a great deal, a large coffee and a doughnut for a buck, I mean it’s pretty cool, so I think it’d be authentic or meta. Yes I’m doing a Dunkin commercial, but am I doing a commercial, you know I don’t do commercials, I’m a real actor this is an art form for me.”
Eventually the cashiers mistake him for another famous Boston A-Lister Matt Damon, asking if he was in The Departed. Affleck, immediately annoyed at the mistake, corrects the cashiers and tried to steer the conversation back to himself. But when that failed and cashiers were saying, “He’s got a really consistent career” Affleck lets out a large sigh which is quickly cut-off by a voice over of the 2-for-1 deal walking out of the shop.

His first advertisement for the New England coffee chain debuted during the Super Bowl where Affleck posed as an employee interacting with and surprising customers including his unsuspecting wife Jennifer Lopez (Shotgun Wedding, Home, Hustlers) pulling up to drive through witnessing her A-Lister husband brew some joe.
Affleck and Damon have a long standing relationship with each other growing up as childhood friends on the mean streets of Boston. The two have worked together on several projects such as Field of Dreams, Dogma, Air, School Ties, and many many more. In fact the two superstars were so close they shared an apartment and bank account stating “we needed the money for the auditions.” on the Bill Simmons Podcast. There’s no doubt Damon would have a chuckle if and when he sees the commercial, further bonding their relationship and hopefully sparking some incentive to work on a project together again.
