According to Screenrant, the second season for Prime Video’s action-packed series, Twisted Metal, which is based on the video game of the same name, has just wrapped up production, and new footage for it has been released by John Doe himself, played by Anthony Mackie (Falcon and the Winter Soldier). The series centers around the perspective of John Doe, who excepts an assignment by Raven, played by Neve Campbell (House of Cards), to deliver a mysterious package across the post-apocyltic wasteland, and along this journey meets Quiet, played by Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto).
The second season was confirmed due to its positive reviews. According to Screenrant, in heartfelt post, Mackie is seen wearing a jacket with a unique spider design and expresses his gratitude to everyone behind the production. He captioned the post, “That’s a wrap on season 2 of Twisted Metal… what a ride!” Mackie continued, “Glad I was able to stay warm! Thanks to the awesome team and crew that put this season together! Stay tuned, more to come!” He ended the post with “John Doe Rides Again.”
What we know about the plot behind the second season is that after completing the assignment, Raven signed John up to be a part of a car combat tournament, along with several other characters, such as Quiet and Sweet Tooth, played by Samoa Joe (No Surrender) and voiced by Will Arnett (Lego Masters) and many more. According to an mxdwn post, fans will see the debut of Calypso, played by Anthony Carrigan (Barry), the mastermind behind the tournament’s creation. While the upcoming season doesn’t have an exact release date, it is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2025, but in the meantime, the entire first season of Twisted Metal is available to stream on Peacock.
