Mike Judge’s (King of the Hill) classic animated series Beavis and Butt-head is back from the purgatory of the nineties with a brand new movie. Streaming exclusively on Paramount+, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe is the newest installment in the raunchy animated series that forever lives in the minds of nineties Millenials rent-free, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The streaming service recently revealed the new film’s release trailer, which is available to watch here:
The anticipated movie is a direct sequel to Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (1996) and aims to pack an intergalactic punch. With the events of the last movie putting them in the late 1990s, the pair finds themselves leaving Earth in 1998 and returning in the year of our Lord: 2022. Taking place everywhere from Texas to outer space, the duo shall surely adapt their immature antics to their different time and setting.
The film and trailer dropping follow the announcement of the franchise’s revival by Comedy Central, which was then ported over to Paramount+ instead in an effort to bolster the streaming giant’s comedy series diversity on the platform. Thankfully, the show will reportedly still star, be written by, and directed by Mike Judge: the show’s original creator.
However the story shakes out, hilarity and stupidity are sure to reign supreme. The movie will be available to stream on the Paramount+ platform later this month.
