The CW has released the trailer for Batwoman season three, which teases some of Gotham’s most infamous villains that Javicia Leslie’s (God Friended Me) Ryan will face.
The beginning of the trailer sets up the premise for the season. In season three, Batwoman and her team search for the Batman trophies, which were lost and washed up on one of Gotham’s rivers at the end of the season two finale. These trophies are items that belong to Batman’s rogue’s gallery, and it seems they have already caused some chaos.
One of those items, being Mad Hatter’s hat, reveals the return of the villain played by Amitai Mormorstein (Sunflower Hour). Elsewhere, Beth Kane, a.k.a Alice, played by Rachel Skarsten (Birds of Prey) is shown being held in custody after being arrested in last season’s finale. Alice also revealed at the end of season two that Ryan’s mother was still alive, which could potentially play into the storyline of season three.
The Mad Hatter is not the only Bat-villain teased in the trailer. We see shots of Poison Ivy’s plants, which were one of the trophies that washed up at the end of the season. In the final shot of the season two finale, Poison Ivy’s plants were seen growing rampant. Poison Ivy will be recurring villain this season with Bridget Regan (Jane the Virgin) cast in the role. Killer Croc could also be seen in the trailer as well.
The trailer also spotlights some of the newcomers joining the main cast this season, including Robin Givens (Boomerang), who will be playing Jada Jet, a powerful CEO who was forced to give up her firstborn. Victoria Cartegena will also join the season three cast, reprising her role as Renee Montoya after previously playing the character in Fox’s Gotham.
Batwoman season three is set to premiere on October 13 on The CW. Check out the trailer below.
