‘Batwoman’ Casts Alex Morf as Villain Victor Zsasz

The CW original superhero television series Batwoman is prepping for its second season and has announced the addition of Alex Morf (Gotham, Mindhunter) to star as the DC Comics villain Victor Zsasz, via Screen Rant. The character of Zsasz has appeared in other DC media projects such as Batman Begins and Gotham, but this will be the first instance of his portrayal in the Batwoman universe. The villain is described in The CW series as “a charismatic, skilled hitman with high, unpredictable energy,” according to Screen Rant

Batwoman concluded a twenty-episode first season following Ruby Rose’s (Orange is the New Black) Kate Kane rise as another Gotham’s vigilante. However, Rose ultimately departed from the role at the conclusion of the first season and the second season will follow Ryan Wilder, portrayed by Javicia Leslie (God Friended Me), in her quest to become the new incarnation of Batwoman. The series is developed for television by Caroline Dries (Smallville, Melrose Place) and is executive produced by the likes of Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, Love, Simon), Geoff Johns (The Flash, Aquaman), Marcos Siega (Veronica Mars, Dexter), David Nutter (Game of Thrones), Dries herself, and many more.

This will not be Morf’s first instance of acting on a superhero series as he starred in Netflix’s Daredevil as John Healy in addition to appearing as Sykes for a few episodes in Gotham. Currently, it is unknown the extent of Morf’s role as Zsasz in the second season of the hit superhero drama series.
