Cory Michael Smith will play Edward Nygma – the man who will be known as Riddler.
Newcomer Cory Michael Smith has joined the cast of the future Fox series as Riddler. Edward, who is a young and smart forensic scientist is also eccentric and inquisitive, but socially awkward. Edward Nygma is that person who wants everybody to like him, but doesn’t know how to make friends, as noted by The Wrap.
Smith joined the series that centers Det. Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the villains that would later terrorize Gotham. The project with the pilot written by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) also star Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Zabryna Guevara, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova.
The actor’s credits also include Todd Haynes’ feature film titled Carol and the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge. He is repped by Paradigm and Circle of Confusion.
Heller will also be the executive producer of the Batman prequel series while Danny Cannon (CSI) will direct and exec. produce the pilot.
