Michael James Shaw (Avengers: Infinity War) joins the cast in the upcoming eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead according to Deadline. The AMC zombie apocalypse hit will feature Shaw as a new series regular.
Shaw will portray the popular character known as Mercer. The character has a strong, badass presence with his Mr. T-like haircut and red amor according to Deadline. The red armor he wears is a reflection of the power in rank he holds.
Mercer first appears in issue 177 of The Walking Dead comics. He is known for his experience in the United States Marine Corps, easily qualifying him to become the leader of the Commonwealth military. In the comics, he later became involved with Paola Lazaro’s (Black Bear) character Juanita (aka Princess). Lazaro’s character Juanita first appeared and was introduced in the series just last season according to Deadline.
Shaw is a graduate of Howard University. He will be featured in the upcoming season 2 of CBS’ Blood & Treasure. On the film side he is widely known for his role as Marvel super villain Corvus Glaive. The villain appeared in both of the latest Avenger installments Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game. Shaw is Juilliard trained and has also been featured in television shows Limitless, Bull, Constantine, and Roots according to Deadline.
