The next entry in the Avatar franchise is officially taking a massive leap into the future. According to Screenrant, Avatar: Seven Havens follows Pavi , voiced by Saheli Khan, a young earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar. To save the remaining havens from a world-ending catastrophe, Pavi must team up with her twin sister, Nisha, voiced by Aishu Devan (The View, Dropped), her mentor, Jae, voiced by Major Curda (Riverdale, Atypical) , and a cat-monkey companion named Geet, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker (The Bad Batch Spongebob Squarepants).
According to Screenrant, it has been mentioned throughout several footage and information that the Avatar name has been revered as being omen of misfortune, after the action done by the previous Avatar, Korra, voiced by Janet Varney (Bravest Warriors, Cake). This journey that Pavi and her companions was described by the team wanted to lean into the mystery genre and leading to question that fans wanted answered such as “How did the world get so bad? Why does everyone hate the Avatar? How did Pavi lose her leg?”
Reported by Screenrant, in an interview with Polygon, executive producer Sehaj Sethi (The Winchesters, Dark and Light) discusses the cultural influence integrated into the series’ world-building ,”Avatar: Seven Havens takes place about 225 years after Legend of Korra ends. While the world is very fantastical, it is still greatly influenced by AAPI and Indigenous cultures and histories. For example, the name Ellora is inspired by the ancient Indian complex of monasteries and temples known as the Ellora Caves. Just as this ancient complex is a harmonious mix of several religious practices (Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism), Ellora (along with the other Havens) is a harmonious blend of all bending practices.”
Avatar: Seven Havens is scheduled to make its grand debut on Paramount+ on October 9 and will have a total of 26 episode divide by two seasons. While awaiting on the release fans can rewatching The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra on Paramount+, and the live-action series is available on Netflix
