Author Lorenzo Silva Signs Development Deal with Mediapro Studio

Author Lorenzo Silva has signed a development deal with Mediapro Studio’s Globomedia, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Under the new deal, Silva will serve as executive producer and supervise a script team that will work on the series adaptation of his latest novel Si Esto es Una Mujer (If This is A Woman), written with Noemi Trujillo as well as two of his nine well known novels featuring the Civil Guard couple Virginia Chamorro and Ruben Bevilacqua.

Silva’s script credits include several films and TV movies, including features based on the duo Bevilacqua and Chamorro, The Impatient Alchemist (2012) and The Most and the Maiden (2017). In 2004, the author received a Goya nomination for the adaptation to film of his 1997 novel La Flaqueza del Bolchevique (The Weakness of the Bolshevik).

“I am proud to announce this collaboration with Lorenzo Silva,” TV director for Mediapro Studio and Globomedia managing director, Javier Pons stated. “We admire his career, which is full of stories which combine mystery and relevant social topics, all with a human perspective on the characters.”

“I’m very happy to have reached an agreement to launch a series about Bevilacqua and Chamorro with the assurance, experience and industrial solidity that The Mediapro Studio and Globomedia bring to the project. Various projects have arisen over the last 20 years for these two characters, which for me are more than fictional creatures, but none came together in the way that I and many of my fans would have liked. This is an excellent opportunity,” Silva said.

The production dates have not yet been announced.
