Real Time with Bill Maher is talk series on HBO hosted by comedian and writer Bill Maher (Politically Incorrect, The Campaign). As the WGA strike ends, the series has set a return date for Friday, September 29th. According to Deadline, Real Time with Bill Maher will be the first late-night talk show to return since the beginning of the WGA strike in May.
On September 26th, Maher made a post on X/Twitter, stating, “My writers and Real Time are back! See you Friday Night!” His post can be viewed below.

The post, which can be viewed below, read, “Hallelujah! @BillMaher is back with a new episode of #RealTime feat. FL Gov. @RonDeSantis, @MakingSenseHQ host Sam Harris and #EndOfDiscussion author @mkhammer FRIDAY @ 10pm on @HBO + @SteamOnMax!”
As the post states, the guest speakers for the upcoming episode are Ron DeSantis, Sam Harris, and Mary Katharine Ham. Written by Maher, Scott Carter (Politically Incorrect, The Conspiracy Zone), and Adam Felber (Wishbone, Root of All Evil), Real Time with Bill Maher consists of 60-minute episodes where a group of guest speakers talk about current events and politics. Maher and his talk show have been nominated for numerous Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Variety Talk Series in 2017.
As Deadline notes, Maher initially made plans to bring back his show with or without writers during the WGA strike. He made an announcement on September 13th that the show would return on September 22nd. However, he reversed this decision a few days later.
Now, fans of Real Time with Bill Maher can look forward to the late-night talk show’s return.
