Former California governor and the Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger (Total Recall) is slated to star in his first scripted television series on Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will also serve as executive producer of the untitled spy show. Schwarzenegger is slated to play the role of a father to his daughter, played by Monica Barbaro (Chicago Justice, Stumptown).
The series will hail from Skydance Television, which Schwarzenegger has had a standing relationship with following the production of his last two Terminator films, entitled Genisys and Dark Fate. The project was initially brought to light in August, having Scwarzenegger’s name attached before the search for potential buyers.
Creator Nick Santora (Scorpion) will serve as showrunner and executive producer opposite Schwarzenegger, David Ellison (Terminator Genisys), Dana Goldberg (Annihilation, World War Z), and Bill Bost (World War Z, G.I. Joe). This series will add to the list of Netflix shows Skydance has produced for the streamer, including Grace and Frankie and Altered Carbon.
